Welcome to Roly Poly

sensory theatre that young children and their caregivers can experience together

We’re Charly Jolly and Maddie Broad, two “professional playful people” making sensory performance with babies, toddlers, children and their caregivers.

Our first show Roly Poly is a warm, musical playscape where families with children under two can relax, play and explore together. Using cardboard props, soft lighting and live instruments, we transform community spaces into a gentle world of sound and movement, designed especially for the youngest audience members.

We also offer a walkabout musical clowning double act suitable for a broad range of environments, from festivals to nurseries to hospital wards, and for children of a broader age range.

Our ACE funded tour across Suffolk and Brighton/East Sussex took place from October 2025 to March 2026. There will be an online sharing of the project on 1st October through our friends Magic Acorns’ online network. Buy tickets here

Very excited to announce that Youth Music Trailblazer Fund have supported us to offer six more Roly Poly shows in Suffolk, two CPD sessions and 20 half day nursery visits! These will take place between October 2026 and May 2027.

We will be visiting children and families accessing EACH Hospice in Ipswich this October for two Roly Poly show days, thanks to funding from Suffolk County Council.

We were awarded the Norfolk and Norwich Festival Bursary in 2026 to work for four days at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge, facilitated by the amazing CUH Arts Team. See photos in our gallery
