Welcome to Roly Poly – sensory theatre for under-twos and their grown-ups
We’re Charly Jolly and Maddie Broad, two “professional playful people” making sensory performance with babies, toddlers, children and their caregivers.
Our first show Roly Poly is a warm, musical playscape where families with children under two can relax, play and explore together. Using cardboard props, soft lighting and live instruments, we transform community spaces into gentle worlds of sound and movement – designed especially for the youngest audience members.
We also offer a walkabout clowning double act suitable for any environment where children of a broader age range play; in 2026 we have gone into nurseries, hospitals and hospices.
Testimonials for Roly Poly
“Amazing! I can’t believe a 7 month old was so engaged - best thing we’ve done”
“We felt relaxed, very at ease and comfortable being ourselves. He thoroughly enjoyed every second and it catered to his additional needs”
“My little one was mesmerised watching the show and enjoyed being able to move around”
“A chance to sit still! And be in a safe environment to do whatever felt right”
Our ACE funded tour across Suffolk (where Charly lives) and Brighton/East Sussex (where Maddie lives) took place from October 2025 to March 2026.
We were awarded the Norfolk and Norwich Festival Bursary in 2026 to work for four days at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge, facilitated by the amazing CUH Arts Team.
